Cougars Replay | Washington State 27, UCLA 7
The good: A much-needed victory in which the Cougars demonstrated a potent running attack and strong defense. Kickoff specialist Wade Penner nailed the first touchback of the season. No sacks were allowed by the offensive line, and the Cougars ran 98 plays, second most in school history.
The bad: The Cougars had first-and-goal at the UCLA 1, and after three fruitless runs, an 18-yard field-goal attempt was blocked.
Next up: At California, Saturday, 7 p.m., FSN.
